ANNOUNCEMENTS:
· Thank you to all who made the End of Summer Workout and Picnic a success. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Master Huntington VII, Mr. Mason VI, Mr. Schoonover IV, and Mr. Archer II! We would also like to thank Mr. Rebic VI for encouraging us to have this event. We are sorry you were sick and we all missed you at the event. · Any TKD pictures from this event (or other TKD events) for our BLUE HERON TKD website are requested.
· There are end of the month workouts in La Center, Washington to assist with getting the NW USTF Region ready for Nationals. All belt ranks are invited. Please talk to Mr. or Mrs. Gleason regarding this if you are interested. Mr. Mason VI, Mr. Schoonover IV, and Mr. Archer II will be running these. See insert box*
· Nationals will be held June 26-27, 2009 in Longview, Washington.
· Additional discounted sparring gear is now available . We have head, hands, and shins “P2 GEAR” - which is a step up from the student gear. It will be placed in the lobby of the Dojan/RAPRD Activity Center. Clearance foot gear is still available.
Classes to be held on the last Saturday of each month,
and will be open to all ranks and ages.

Classes run from 10:00am to 2:30pm
with a 1/2 hour lunch break at noon.
Sparring (2 hours) topics to be covered:
Foot work, distancing, head drills,
reaction drills, attacking drills,
counter attacking drills, endurance drills,
coaching tactics, effective combinations
& consecutive kicking.
Actual sparring at a national level and impact
Patterns (1 hour) topics to be covered:
Intermediate hand positions & foot positions,
effective power& speed, correct stances.
Breaking (1 hour) topics to be covered:
Proper techniques, hand & foot weapon conditioning,
mental preparation, effective exercises for improving breaking, reviewing the rules of breaking.
